How to Remove Scratches from Car

Oh no! You got a new scratch on your car! Don’t panic, you can probably fix small scratches with just a few things on your own. Here’s how to make your car look good as new:

What you will need:

Soft Foam Applicator Pad: This spreads the scratch remover evenly.

Clean, Lint-Free Towels: For drying and buffing your car’s finish.

Microfiber Towel: Perfect for applying wax and getting a shiny finish.

Good Quality Scratch Remover: Pick a well-known brand you trust.

Spray Wax: Protects your car’s paint and makes it shine.

Let’s get started

1. Give your car a good wash to remove any dirt that could cause problems when removing the scratches. Dry the scratched area completely with a lint-free towel.

2. Put a little bit of scratch remover on the foam applicator pad. Gently rub it into the scratch using small circles. This helps the scratch blend in with the rest of the paint.

3. When finished with applying the scratch remover, use spray wax to make your car look shiny and protect the paint. Buff the area until it’s smooth and shiny.

Important Tips:

Read the guide: Always follow the instructions that come with your scratch remover and wax.

Stay Out of the Sun: Don’t use these products in direct sunlight. It can cause streaks which can make them hard to remove.

Less is More: Use a small amount of scratch remover. Too much can damage your car’s clear coat.

Test It Out: Try the product on a small, hidden area of your car first to make sure it doesn’t damage the paint.

There are several reputable brands we can recommend. Turtle Wax, Mothers, Quixx, Meguiar’s and Nu Finish. They’re great for fixing minor scratches, water spots, swirl marks, and other small paint problems.

If you have a deep scratch that cannot be removed by the methods above, it’s best to take your car to a professional.

Follow these steps and you will keep your car in its best and free from any scratches!
